My longtime primary school friend Keith, was back from Germany last week, after a 6-month academic exchange program so we had a BBQ dinner gathering in his honor. Yours truely was asked to make the dessert for the night and I thought chocolate would be perfect to go with the smokiness from the food. Thus, I finally had the chance to make the long-awaiting Nutella Cake recipe sitting amongst my many to-make recipes. The recipe, originally by the original domestic goddess, Nigella Lawson, was adapted by shiokadelicious and I in turn, followed that.
The cake was just amazing! The cake was dense, sort of like a torte, but yet the ground hazelnut within actually offsets the denseness such that one do not get the heavy-in-the-stomach a.k.a guilty type of feeling. I divided the calories cut the cake into 16 slices and it was just the perfect sweet ending.
